DON’T IGNORE STRESS!

Did you know this month is national #stressawarenessmonth? According to the Mental health Foundation, 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed at some point over the last year they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope. 

Stress is a major factor in mental health problems including anxiety and depression. It is also linked to physical health problems like heart disease, problems with our immune system, insomnia and digestive problems. Which is why is so important to raise awareness as it is linked to many other issues and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Looking after yourself from the inside out, making time for self care and being open about problems can really help with stress levels. Also remember to be nice and empathic to someone close who is suffering with stress. Read on for some tips on how to deal with stress and how to feel better this Spring.

 

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP WITH STRESS?


We will all suffer with stress at some point in our lives. Some of us more than others, and some of live stressful lives every single day. But what can we do to help it? How can we make life a little easier for ourselves? Here are some simple tips that we can incorporate into our every day lives.

Take a bath! Even if it’s a five minute bath. Preferably in the evening, with your favourite bath oil and some magnesium salts (magnesium deficiency can also cause depression and anxiety). Turn off your phone or leave it in another room, so you can fully switch off. Take some deep breaths and try to forget about what’s happened in the day. If a bath isn’t possible, try to take a shower with a relaxing shower gel.
Try meditation or mindfulness. Meditation is now becoming more and more recognised and being practiced more than ever before. With popular apps such as Calm at your fingertips, with meditation sessions as short as five minutes, is never been easier to escape reality even for a few minutes. There are more benefits of meditation being scientifically proven all the time. The main benefits being -
