If you’ve been feeling tired lately, you may need a helping hand to stay refreshed and energised — especially at this time of year! Our latest collection has a Revitalise theme, so we wanted to share some tips to help you feel invigorated and start blowing away the cobwebs.
Do Some Deep Breathing
When you feel your energy levels dipping, deep breathing exercises can help you feel refreshed. Taking a few deep breaths can be instantly energizing. It gets more oxygen flowing around your body and crucially, to your brain. As well as helping to feel more lively, this is also great from a detox perspective (as you’ll see later on!).
What to Eat and Drink to Feel More Refreshed
Your diet can play a big part in helping to feel refreshed and energised.
B vitamins can be crucial for this as they’re involved in energy metabolism. You can find these in whole grains, poultry, red meat, eggs, legumes, nuts, seeds, and dark leafy greens.
Healthy fats are great for helping you to look more refreshed and encouraging healthy, glowing skin. Olive oil, avocado, fatty fish, nuts, and seeds can provide plenty of good fats.
You’ve probably heard about the power of superfoods, but it can be a big challenge to try to get plenty of them into your diet on a day-to-day basis.
Potion London Eat Your Greens Supplement featured in our Revitalise collection and is a very convenient way to get superfood benefits. It’s a whole food supplement packed full of antioxidants, including spirulina, wheatgrass, barley grass, spinach, kale, and beetroot. These types of superfoods can also be great for detoxing too.
Fermented drinks can be great for gut health, which as you probably know, is strongly connected to wellbeing. If the balance of bacteria in your gut is even slightly off, it can leave you feeling drained, lethargic, and out of sorts.
Kefir and kombucha are two types of fermented drinks that are growing in popularity, which is why we were so thrilled to include a kombucha drink in our Revitalise box. Delicately brewed for 30 days, traditionally fermented, and handcrafted, it’s the perfect way to increase the amount of “good” bacteria in your gut.
Caffeine is well known for giving a quick energy boost, but it’s also linked to energy crashes later on. We loved including the MAWish Metabolism Booster Superfood Latte sample in the Revitalise collection because it’s a little bit different and designed with natural ingredients in mind. With ingredients such as cacao, cinnamon, vanilla, and chilli, it’s not your typical latte — perfect for a refreshing pick-me-up that won’t lead to energy slumps!
Giving Your Skin a Refresh
Refreshing your skin can help too. The winter months can take their toll on your skin, and this can encourage it to look dry and dull.
Exfoliating can help to get rid of dead skin cells and help your inner radiance shine through. After this, the right balance of skin care products can brighten your complexion and refresh your skin.
Tired-looking eyes can make your face look dull, so this is a great place to start.
Our Revitalise collection included the gorgeous Kri Awaken Eye Cream With Paracress. This plant-based eye cream plumps and tightens the delicate skin around the eye area and reduces puffiness and fine lines. It’s a lovely way to make your skin look and feel brighter and more refreshed — even if you’re not really on top of the world!
The NARLOA Jasmine and Neroli Body Oil was another feature of the Revitalise collection. It contains a therapeutic blend of oils that are relaxing and calming. Massage a few drops into your skin after showering or bathing for instant revitalisation!
Natural and Safe Detox Tips
Toxins can make you feel sluggish, and as we can be exposed to so many different ones, a gentle and natural detox can help you to feel more refreshed.
Your body naturally detoxes itself, so the main aim is to support its efforts and make detox more effective.
Some tips for this include:
Drinking plenty of water can help to flush out toxins. It’s also very important for staying energized. Even being a little bit dehydrated can zap your energy levels.
Eating a diverse range of whole foods to get plenty of vitamins and minerals. If there are any gaps in your nutrition, you can fill these in with high-quality supplements.
Limiting your exposure to pesticides, GMOs, and processed foods can reduce your toxic load.
Deep breathing (from your abdomen, rather than your chest) helps to stimulate your lymphatic system, which is very important for detoxing more efficiently.
